Bill is a senior research coatings chemist in the group that supports the Air Force Coatings Technology Integration Office at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. Projects in this group include testing, development, and integration of coatings systems for aircraft and supporting ground structures and equipment. This work has included all aspects of coatings application, including coatings removal, surface preparation, and application.
Prior to leading the CTIO support program, Bill’s industry experience spanned a wide range of coatings-related technologies. Bill has led research and commercialization projects at Sherwin-Williams, Mead, and International Paper. These have included projects to use software to reformulate latex formulae, and commercialization of water-borne topcoats, coated ink jet paper, grease resistant papers, and ream wrap.
