Professional Experience:
Paul Piechota brings 26 years of professional experience to the university through experiences with such Fortune 1000 companies as NCR, Texas Instruments and Quiligy. He started as a course developer with NCR's Financial Systems Group. His role was to learn, develop and then deliver training to NCR's clients on programming and debugging NCR equipment like ATMs, item processing and teller/admin workstations. During this learning period at NCR, Mr. Piechota was introduced to all functional areas of the corporation. This experience with the many products at NCR led his career path to sales where he learned the revenue generation side. In those years in various sales and sales leadership positions, Mr. Piechota made the NCR and Texas Instruments Sales/President Club each year.
After several years in support of UD's Center for Leadership and Executive Development, Mr. Piechota accepted the role of Executive Director for the Center for Competitive Change at UDRI. Under his leadership the Center provides a wide range of learning programs and leadership guidance in initiating and conducting a variety of business services in the three core areas: Lean, ISO and Six-Sigma.
In addition to this role, Mr. Piechota serves as the principal investigator for the Competency Mapping project for the AFMC ALC-EN organization at Tinker AFB. He is the author of over 30 publications, including presentations with such titles as “Transforming the Enterprise: ‘Getting to the Future First!’” and “Establishing a Method for Process and Culture Change in AFMC.” His research has contributed to the design, development and improvement of several new processes and curriculums in support of helping clients get to the future first. He has worked with all levels of management, from leadership teams to shop floor machinists, in support of helping them learn and successfully execute business efficiencies and new growth (i.e. profits).
Professional Affiliations:
Paul is currently a Microsoft Preferred Solution partner, and a member of Dayton Technology and Manufacturing Association, Dayton Chamber for Commerce, Dayton IT Alliance, Dayton iZone, and the American Society of Training and Development - Dayton and Cincinnati chapters. His past memberships have included the Management Association and the Holy Angels Pastoral and Educational Steering Committee and Council.
