Paul has over 30 years experience as principal investigator evaluating the performance of engineering materials, individual components and complex structures subjected to realistic service environments for both industry and government agencies.

Currently, Paul is administering a plan to enhance his group’s capabilities for characterizing elastomeric components, paper- and carbon-based friction materials and for conducting multi-axis durability tests of components and structures. Under Paul’s direction the SCC group has also acquired new capabilities for collecting and processing road profile data and performing corresponding high-value laboratory-based tests. The group is also expanding its metrology, calibration and vibration test capabilities in order to become a one-stop R & D source for many customers.
