Susan has over 20 years of experience as principal investigator evaluating the compatibility of sealants and elastomeric materials with typical aircraft fuels and fluids. She also has experience in the processing and evaluation of composite materials and adhesives. 
Currently, Susan is principal investigator on a US Air Force program to refine current techniques for verifying the performance of new and existing gap sealant materials. The work includes establishing baseline electrical properties, application properties, and performance properties of these materials.
