Life Management Group

The Life Management Group provides services and software to organizations that wish to perform structural life assessments. Structural life assessments involve the evaluation of a structure's capability to perform a function or mission for a specified operating period without any mishaps, unexpected maintenance, or safety problems. The group's analyses are based on traditional structural analysis tools (e.g., finite element, aeroelasticity, and plasticity) coupled with other tools that describe two elements: the operational environment (mechanical, thermal, chemical) in which the structure operates, and the cracking behavior of materials in these environments. Once a system is operational, Life Management supports the ongoing life assessment by monitoring operational conditions and their impact on the continuing structural integrity of the system.
