Lithium-Air/Water Cells
Based on prior intellectual property in the area of lithium ion conducting solids, the Electrochemical Power group has developed highly conductive (10-2 s cm-1 at room temperature) water-stable, heterogeneous ceramic and polymer-ceramic membranes. These membranes are being evaluated in lithium-air and lithium-water cells. Optimization of cell geometry and chemistry are being pursued for rechargeable applications.
