Cliff has over 19 years of experience managing and operating the SCEPTRE Facility in the US Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. He has tested a wide variety of spacecraft materials, including thermal control coatings, optical thin films, and polymeric materials. Cliff has co-authored the revised (ASTM) E 512-94 Standard Practice for Combined, Simulated Space Environment Testing of Thermal Control Materials with Electromagnetic and Particulate Radiation and is the chairman of the ASTM E21.04 Subcommittee on Space Simulation Test Methods. He has also contributed to spaceflight testing opportunities on the Long Duration Exposure Facility (LDEF) and the more recent Materials International Space Station Experiment (MISSE) sponsored by AFRL and NASA.
