Gallagher Receives ASTM Honor
Joseph Gallagher, director of the UDRI Sustainment Center, earned the 2002 Committee E08 Fatigue Achievement Award from the American Society for Testing and Materials. The award honors individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the field of fatigue of materials. Gallagher's career concentration has included fatigue and fracture problems, dealing primarily with sustainment of aircraft, aircraft turbine engines and aircraft electromechanical subsystems. The Erma Bombeck Online Museum (http://www.ermamuseum.org) has won two Web site awards. The online exhibit won A Woman's Touch Gold Award for celebrating how women make a positive difference in society. The second award, a Golden Web Award from the International Association of Webmasters and Designers, recognized the online museum for excellence in design, content and originality. The Erma Museum and the Plethoreum where it is “housed” were created by UDRI’s Web Development Center.
