UDRI is the host for the annual Montgomery County Science Day, an event which brings more than 350 junior high and high school students and their science fair projects to the University each March. The students’ science projects are each judged by a team of science professionals and those scoring high enough can continue on to the District Science Fair. The top two projects also receive an all-expenses paid trip to the annual Intel Science and Engineering Fair held in the U.S., giving the students the chance to win college scholarships and other financial awards.

UDRI volunteers work with various offices at the University to provide the facilities support, parking, lunch, judges, documentation and signage, and computer/database services for the students, their parents, and the judges.
